Music to live by...

"I'm so tired,
I haven't slept a wink.
I'm so tired,
My mind is on the blink
I wonder should I get up and fix myself a drink
No, no, no..."

Does anybody find it strange that you can think of lyrics to match almost any mood? Or does everybody out there have a soundtrack for their lives?

So I sit by my window and I watch the cars roll by / I fear I'll do some damage one fine day / but I would not be convicted by a jury of my peers ...

That's the one that comes to mind most often.

Like everything else, I cannot commit myself to a single song. But a drink sounds good about now. :)

i think dofferent lyrics set themselves up fr different moods, and depending on my frame of mind, I might well find them being soundtracks at that point.

But when you look back, ya- some songs have strong associations. They are genuine soundtracksI suppose. gosh, what rambling.
this deserves a post I will never end up writing

Ph, it's more about which lyrics at which point in time, yes? Like Shakey says.
Though I'm not sure where Pollini playing Chopin in my head fits into the whole "lyrics" thing!

and sometimes the music sets the mood and you didn't even realise it was coming....even if I'm
"fixing a hole, where the rain gets in...stops my mind from wandering, where it will go..."

Play an instrument, Inky? If so, you'll know how you can work yourself into and out of moods while your fingers / arm / mouth / whatever work away at the keys / strings / pipes. Nothing more beautiful than making music. :)

Currently...

'What've you got, at the end of the day?
What've you got, to take away?
A bottle of whisky, and a new set of lies,
Blinds on the window, and a pain behind the eyes.'
